BUENA VISTA, Va.—In their final home game of the year the Southern Virginia women's basketball team suffered a 79-59 conference loss to Salisbury University Saturday afternoon in the Knight Sports Arena.
The Knights (6-17, 4-12 CAC) seemed to be running toe to toe with Salisbury (12-11, 8-8 CAC) on Saturday afternoon, only trailing by two going into the half. The Seagulls ignited in the second half, however, outscoring Southern Virginia by 18 points.
Junior forward Morgan Hartvigsen led the Knights with 17 points, including going 5-9 from the three-point line. Senior Larissa Macfarlane scored 12 points and led the team with 7 boards in her final home game of her collegiate career. Shelby Winsor added 10 points for Southern Virginia.
Despite the loss, the Knights outshot the Seagulls from beyond the arc 47.1% to 40.0%.
