MIDDLETOWN, Pa.—Three Knights combined for a total of 52 points to lead the Southern Virginia women's basketball team to a 87-68 conference victory over Penn State-Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon.
With a career-high of 20 points including 10-14 free throws and 11 rebounds, Shelby Winsor picked up her third double-double of the season. Morgan Hartvigsen contributed to the Knights' (4-16, 3-11 CAC) win over the Lions (9-12, 5-9 CAC) with 17 points and went 4-5 from the three-point line. Freshman Merideth Ouellette added 15 points and three assists.
Coming off the bench, freshman forward Autumn Cramer scored 11, tallied eight boards, and added four assists.
The Knights scored the first points of the game and never looked back, outshooting the Lions 57% to 38%. Southern Virginia drained eight treys, while the Lions shot 8% (3-35) from behind the arc.
Southern Virginia travels to Roanoke, Virginia on Monday, February 8 to take on Hollins University in a non-conference game at 6 p.m.
