Douglas Has Career Night in Loss to Wolverines

DOVER, Del.—The Southern Virginia University men's basketball team fell 81-68 to Wesley College in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

The Knights (3-14, 1-9 CAC) started the game with a 6-0 run led by Rashay Douglas and held onto a narrow lead until Wesley (7-10, 5-5 CAC) went on a run with three minutes left to take a five-point lead at halftime. The Wolverines stayed in control for the remainder of the game to secure the win.

Douglas recorded a career-high 26 points and shot an impressive 56% from the field. Chris Richardson contributed 12 points and Sam Armstrong added eight points for his career high.

Southern Virginia shot 46.3% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc compared to Wesley's 46% and 38.5%. The Knights shot a season low 45.5% from the line.

Turnovers continue to plague the Knights as they had 23, five more then their season average. 

The Knights will look for their second conference win at the University of Mary Washington on Wednesday, January 25 at 8 p.m. in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
