MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Southern Virginia University baseball time earned a 15-0 win over John Jay College Friday afternoon, in game one of a three-game trip to Myrtle Beach.

Right-hander Tayler Peterson threw the complete-game shutout, striking out seven Bloodhounds (1-6) and only allowing five hits in 35 batters faced.

The Knights (6-9) led off the first inning with a Cole Critchfield run from a Zach McNally single. And eight-run second inning was aided by a John Jay error and RBI singles from Ryan Saunders, McNally, and Jordan Keefer, plus a Ryan Morin double to left center.

Southern Virginia tacked on two in the fourth and three more in the seventh before a final run in the ninth would seal the deal, 15-0.

Keefer recorded two more RBIs with a triple in the seventh, and a single in the ninth.

Saturday brings a pair of games against The College of Staten Island beginning at 12 p.m.
