Faulkner Named Runner of the Week

BUENA VISTA, Va.−Southern Virginia University women's cross country sophomore runner Tori Faulkner today was name USCAA Runner of the Week after landing a third-place finish overall at the Maroon Invitational on Saturday, Sep. 22. 

Faulkner (Mesa, Ariz.) was Southern Virginia's top women's finisher at Roanoke College running her best 5K-time so far this season (21:45) in the 33-runner race, helping the Knights place second out of five schools at the invitational.

Faulkner has been Southern Virginia's top finisher in three of her four races this season, coming in 23rd place overall at the JMU Invitational last week and placing 8th at the Washington and Lee Invitational on Sep. 8.

"Tori has really been our go-to runner so far," said second-year Head Coach Logan Davis. "She has picked up where she left of last year and we expect her to lead this team to reach its full potential."
