Faulkner Named Runner of the Week for Second Time

BUENA VISTA, Va.—Southern Virginia University women's cross country first-year runner Tori Faulkner today was named USCAA Runner of the Week for the second time in four weeks after placing second overall at the Virginia State University Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Faulkner was Southern Virginia's top women's finisher at Virginia State after running a season-best 5K-time of 19:48 helping the Knights place second out of three schools at the invitational.

A freshman from Mesa, Ariz., Faulkner has been the Southern Virginia's top finisher in all five of her races this season helping women's cross country to one first-place, four second-place and one fourth-place finish in 2011. 

The USCAA also named Faulkner Runner of the Week on Sept. 20 after she placed third out of 81 competitors at the Berea College Invitational 5K on Sept. 17 with a time of 20:03.
