Schultz Paces SVU To 6th At W&L Generals Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. Senior Leila Schultz used a top-25 finish to help the Southern Virginia Women's Cross Country team finish in 6th place at the General's Invitational. Schultz finished the 6k course in 28:03 which was good enough for 25th, and helped the Knights get the points necessary for a solid finish in the second meet of the season. Cassandra Cooper was the next SVU runner to finish, as she clocked in with a time of 30:05. Madeleine Jeppson came next at 30:47, and gave the Knights three runners in the top-50.

Cameryn Lee and Victoria Isham finished out the runners for SVU, as they totaled 183-points. The Knights finished ahead of Bluefield College, Randolph College, and Averett College. The hosts, Washington & Lee University, won the meet with a score of 37-points. Followed by Catholic University, Roanoke college, Mary Baldwin College and Salem College.

SVU will be back running Sep. 25 when they head to the Maroon Invitational. Roanoke College is the host of the invitational.
