Steflik and Schultz One-Two Punch Help Knights to Fourth

CONCORD, N.H. Amy Steflik and Leila Schultz finished in the top-30 at the USCAA National Invitational to help the Southern Virginia Cross Country team finish fourth. Steflik led the Knights as she finished in 26th with Schultz right behind here. Steflik's time was 27:38, and Schultz followed a half-a-minute behind her.

"There was some great competition at this meet," said Head Coach Leslie McKinney. "I'm very pleased with how the ladies did. We had some of our best perfromances of the year. Like I said, with great competition you have to have perefect performances. We came close, but I'm very happy with the finishes."

Randi Rose was the next Knight to finish, followed by Victoria Isham. Cassandra Cooper was right behind Isham, as the two finished within a second of each other. Kylie Miles came next for SVU, and then Mary Massey finished for the Knights. Madeleine Jeppson and Britnee Redd added to the strong finish for SVU. Ann Fowler and Mckenzie Wilden finished out the SVU runners.

"This has been a very good season for us," said McKinney. "We have had ups and downs. We're young, so hopefully a finish like this motivates us to get better. I'm proud of our runners today."
