Brittney Lee enters her second season as the head women’s volleyball coach for Southern Virginia University.

In 2014 Lee led the Knights to the semi-finals of the CAC Tournament after taking the second seed in conference play. She coached Kaitlyn Eaton, who was named first team All-CAC and second team VaSID All-State, as well as sophomore April Bennett and freshman Vanessa Pawlak who were named to the second team All-CAC.

In her first season as an assistant coach at Southern Virginia during the 2013 season, Lee helped head coach Paige Hiatt guide a young Knight squad to a 15-9 overall record, including an impressive 6-3 record against Capital Athletic Conference teams in its first season as a member of the league. She also helped the Knights to a solid 8-2 record in front of their home crowd at Knight Sports Arena.

She helped coach two Knights to the All-CAC Second Team – freshman April Bennett and junior Kaitlyn Eaton – while also coaching senior Tori Tuttle to USCAA honorable mention and senior Shyanne Ison and junior Jamie Pinkston to USCAA All-Academic honors.

Prior to Southern Virginia, Lee coached club volleyball in Glendale, Ariz., during the 2012 season and served as junior varsity girls volleyball head coach at Sandra Day O’Connor High School for a season in 2011.

In addition to volleyball, Lee has coaching experience in track and field as well, working as an assistant coach at Mountain Ridge High School and Canyon View High School, respectively.

A 2011 graduate, Lee played women’s volleyball at Southern Utah University where she earned All-Summit League honors and ranked within the top 5 of the conference in assists her junior and senior years.

Before Southern Utah, Lee was a two-sport athlete at Glendale Community College in Arizona, playing volleyball while also participating on the track and field squad. Including being named an NJCAA All-American twice (2007, 2008), Lee led the Gauchos to a 2008 ACCAC women’s volleyball conference title as well.

During her playing days at Mountain Ridge High School, Lee earned two volleyball all-state citations and was named all-region Player of the Year as a senior while helping her team win the 5A state championship in 2004.

Lee has a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Southern Utah University.

She and her husband, Jager, a member of Southern Virginia’s football team, reside in Buena Vista with their daughter, Brooke.
