BUENA VISTA, Va. — On senior night in Knight Sports Arena, the Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over Randolph College on Tuesday evening, their second win in straight sets against the Wildcats this year.

After playing to a 16-16 tie in the first set, the Knights (18-7) went on to win nine of the next ten points behind the service of senior Penny Gwynn to take the game 25-17. Southern Virginia would also handily take the second set 25-11, which included a stretch in which they scored 15 of 18 points to take the commanding lead. The Knights took an early lead in the third, but the Wildcats (8-17) fought hard to make the score 24-22 before senior Hannah Allred ended the match with a powerful kill.

The match was primarily decided on the attack with the Knights tallying 41 kills to the Wildcats' 19. Allred led the team with 15 kills, while Gwynn added 10 and sophomore Ryan Dubinsky tacked on five more. Setter LaRee Crockett had a solid night with 32 assists and nine digs, while libero Mykynli Knight led the team with 13 digs.

After the match, seniors Hannah Allred, Penny Gwynn, Claire Houghtaling, and Delaney Layton were recognized for their dedicated efforts and significant contributions to the program.

The Knights resume conference play this weekend as they travel north to take on St. Mary's (Md.)  on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Marymount on Saturday. If the Knights win both games they secure a second or third seed in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.
