Women's Volleyball Wins Eighth Straight

WINCHESTER, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team won its eighth-straight match on Tuesday in a 3-0 sweep of Shenandoah University.

The Knights (12-4) only allowed the Hornets (5-12) 13 points in the first set, 20 in the second, and nine in the third. Offensively, Penny Gwynn and Hannah Allred recorded 14 and 13 kills, respectively. LaRee Crockett dished 37 assists, a season-high in a three-set match. 

Mykynli Knight picked up 14 digs, while Delaney Layton and Claire Houghtaling each had six. 

Southern Virginia resumes Capital Athletic Conference play on Saturday, with a 2 p.m. match at Frostburg State.
