Volleyball Drops Fourth Straight

BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia volleyball team fell to Saint Mary's College of Maryland 3-0 in their second conference game of the season on Wednesday evening.

The Knights (4-13, 0-2 CAC) competed in a tight first set, but were unable to keep the lead allowing the Seahawks (9-6, 2-1 CAC) to capture the win 25-20. The Seahawks carried that momentum and took the last two sets 25-19 and 25-16.

The Southern Virginia squad was led on the attack by freshman Allison Tiegs and sophomore Emma Evans with 7 and 6 kills. Setter Valerie Baety tallied 15 assists. At the net, middle blocker Mellissa Owen earned 3 blocks for the Knights and Ofa Moa-Sam Fong recorded double-digits digs with 14. 

Seahawks' Outside hitter Alli Graf led all players 13 kills and 14 digs.

Southern Virginia travels to Lynchburg, Virginia where they will take on Randolph College on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Knights beat the Wildcats 3-1 in their last match on Sept. 24 of this year.
