BUENA VISTA, Va.—The United States Collegiate Athletic Association today announced its 2012 women's volleyball All-American and All-Academic selections honoring three Southern Virginia University Knights.

Junior Tori Tuttle (Anahola, Haw.) headlined the Southern Virginia selections as the 6-1 middle blocker was selected to the USCAA All-American Second Team after leading the Knights in blocks (77), kills (161) and kills-per-game (2.44) in 22 matches this season.

"Tori has worked very hard this year and is deserving of this honor," said tenth-year Head Coach Michael Harmon. "She was one of our most consistent players throughout the season and especially came on strong in the latter end of the year."

Two-time honoree Tuttle, who was named to the 2011 USCAA All-American Team as a sophomore, has led the Knights the past two seasons with 177 total blocks through 2011-12 respectively.

"I expect Tori [Tuttle] to build upon this season in preparation for a great senior year," said Harmon.

Tuttle was joined on the All-American team by senior middle blocker Kelsey Beck (Idaho Falls, Idaho), who earned Honorable Mention honors after tying Tuttle for a season-high 161 kills and ranking second on the team with 57 blocks.

"Kelsey [Beck] did a great job this year adapting quickly to what I asked of her," said Harmon. "This honor is a testament of not only what she accomplished this season but of what she was able to do for this program throughout her four-year career."

Three additional women's volleyball teammates—juniors Jordan Geist (Jerome, Idaho) and Shyanne Ison (Mt. Pleasant, Utah) along with sophomore Morgan Neese (Sanford, Colo.)—earned USCAA All-Academic honors accumulating a 3.5-plus GPA.

"Jordan, Shyanne and Morgan have demonstrated the true meaning of a scholar-athlete," said Harmon. "They have also embodied Southern Virginia University's core values—refinement, enthusiasm, accountability, discipleship and scholarship."
