FERRUM, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's volleyball team continued its hot start to the 2011 season on Tuesday night with a 3-0 win over NCAA Division III Ferrum College moving to 7-2 on the year.
Tuesday's match with the 0-4 Panthers was never close as the Knights won each set by at least ten points (25-13, 25-12, 25-15).
Junior middle blocker Bryndy Christensen (Idaho Falls, Idaho) was Southern Virginia's most potent hitter at Ferrum recording a game-high 10 kills on 16 attacks.
Senior outside hitter Brynn McGinn (Bedford, Ind.) was not far behind with nine kills against the Panthers while recording a game-high four serving aces.
Southern Virginia's junior setter Nicole Gwyn had a game-high 24 assists and added four digs for the Knights.
After winning seven of its first nine games, women's volleyball has a week off before hosting Roanoke College in The Barn for its first home match of the season.
