BUENA VISTA, Va. — Southern Virginia University women's tennis coach Tom Snelson today announced the team's 2019-20 schedule.
"We are excited for this year's schedule," said Snelson. "We are playing some talented teams this year and have great trips planned. We hope to continue the success that was established over the past years."
The Knights start the fall season on the road as they will head to Ewing Township, New Jersey, against The College of New Jersey on Aug. 31.
Two weeks later, Southern Virginia competes in their first tournament of the season at the Virginia Wesleyan Invitational on Sept. 13-14.
The Knights continue their road trip at Division II Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Sept. 20, followed by a match against Pfeiffer on Sept. 21.
Southern Virginia will open up Capital Athletic Conference play with their first home match of the season, hosting York (Pa.) on Oct. 12. Later that day the Knights will play Randolph.
The Knights enter the spring season with their first four matches on the road starting with a trip to the Empire State to face New York University on Mar. 7. The team will then continue their journey with matches against Averett on Mar. 10, CAC foe Christopher Newport on Mar. 13 and Virginia Wesleyan on Mar. 14.
Southern Virginia will then return for a three-match homestand beginning with defending CAC champs Mary Washington on Mar. 21, followed by St. Mary's (Md.) on Mar. 27 and Harford on Mar. 28.
The Knights conclude their regular season on the road the entire month of April starting with Methodist on Apr. 4 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, followed by Lynchburg on Apr. 14. Southern Virginia will then travel to Goucher on Apr. 16, and Stevenson on Apr. 17 to complete the nonconference schedule.
The Knights' regular season will end with a CAC matchup on the road at Salisbury on Apr. 18.
