Women's Tennis Shines on Senior Day

BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team swept the Lions of Penn State Harrisburg 9-0 on Saturday morning in their final match of the regular season.

The Knights (14-4, 4-3 CAC) dropped only two total games between three doubles spots, including an 8-0 win by the senior duo of Lauren Morrison and Rachel Christensen and an 8-0 win from freshmen' Alyssa Sewell and Morgan Blount.

In singles, Christensen had the closest match, taking down her opponent at the No.1 singles flight in a third-set super tiebreaker 6-2, 1-6, 10-5.

Southern Virginia dropped only seven total games to the Lions (8-11, 2-5 CAC) between the other five singles matches, including Lauren Morrison dominating her opponent 6-0, 6-1 and Audrey McBride picking up a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 3 position.

The Knights will host the first round of the CAC tournament on the 27th of April with the opponent and match-time TBA.
