Women's Tennis Picks Up CAC Win

YORK, Pa. — The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team took down the Spartans of York (Pa.) 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights (13-3) went 2-1 in the doubles to gain an early lead over the Spartans (7-5).

Elizabeth Fuchs and Rachel Neeleman dropped a tough match at No. 1 doubles 8-4. Rachel Christensen and Lauren Morrison won their match 8-0 making quick work of their opponents and then Morgan Blount and Alyssa Sewell came away with an 8-2 victory.

Southern Virginia swept singles play going 6-0 with Neeleman, Christensen Morrison, Sewell, Blount, and Audrey Mcbride each collection a win to seal the match with the Knights handing the Spartans the 8-1 loss.

The Knights face Christopher Newport this Friday, April 19 as a rescheduled match from April 4 that was postponed due to inclement weather. The match will begin at 3:00 p.m. at The Tennis Courts.
