Knights Downed by Seagulls 7-2

BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team fell in a home CAC matchup to the Seagulls of Salisbury University 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.

In doubles, the Knights (11-3) fell at all three positions with the closest match coming at the No. 2 spot as Lauren Morrison and Rachel Christensen lost 8-7(2). The other two doubles teams both fell to the Seagulls (8-4) 8-5.

Both of Southern Virginia's wins came in singles as Lauren Morrison won by default at the No. 3 flight and Morgan Blount ousted her opponent in a third set 6-4, 4-6, (10-4).

Rachel Neeleman also had a tough battle at the top singles slot, dropping the first set in a tiebreaker 7-6 and then falling in the second 6-2.

Southern Virginia returns to action on the 11th of April as they will travel to Pennsylvania to take on Elizabethtown College at 3:30 p.m.
