Knights Fall to Wooster 7-2

HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of The College of Wooster 7-2 on Saturday in their final match at Hilton Head South Carolina.

The Knights (6-1) went down 2-1 in doubles despite an impressive effort at the third doubles flight by Freshmen Alyssa Sewell and Morgan Blount who won their match 8-0.

In singles, the Fighting Scots (7-1) were able to take all of the singles points outside of Morgan Blount who won for the Knights at the No. 5 singles position 6-0 6-2.

Rachel Neeleman and Natalie Tetterton also both put up tough fights in their singles match as Neeleman lost in a third set 2-6, 6-2, (3-10) at No. 2 and Tetterton fell in a third set as well 6-4, 4-6, (7-10) at the No. 6 position.

The Knights look to bounce back on the 19th of March as they will host Bridgewater College at 3 p.m.
