Women's Tennis Strong Play Tops Nazareth

HILTON HEAD, S.C. — The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team continued their strong play this spring as they defeated Nazareth 7-2 at the Evian Tennis Center Wednesday afternoon.

Audrey McBride and Lauren Morrison were victorious in number one doubles winning 8-2 followed by the number two doubles team of Rachel Neeleman and Rachel Christensen who defeated their opponents 8-4. Number three doubles of Morgan Blount and Alyssa Sewell dropped a difficult loss falling 8-7.

Audrey McBride fell in number one singles falling 6-4 and 6-3. The Knights responded with five consecutive victories with Sewell and Blount each pulling out key victories in the third set. Morrison, Aldrich, and Natalie Tetterton each also collected wins for Southern Virginia.

The Knights continue to play at Hilton Head, S.C. as they will play Catholic with a start time of 2:30 p.m.
