WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team earned their second sweep of the season and improved their record to 6-1, taking down Salem College 9-0 Wednesday afternoon.

First up were the doubles teams. No. 1 doubles Elizabeth Fuchs and Rachel Christensen swept their opponents 8-0 to quickly put the Knights up 1-0. With an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles, the Knights took all three double points.

Playing at No. 1, Rachel Christensen had to battle back after falling in the first set 6-4. The match went to a third set tiebreaker and Christensen held her nerve to defeat her opponent 12-10 in the tiebreaker.

The other five singles players were able to defeat their respective opponents in straight sets. Lauren Morrison, the Knights No. 4, did not drop a game in her 6-0, 6-0 victory over Lindsay Young.
