Women's Tennis Falls to York College (Pa.) on the Road

YORK, Pa.—The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team dropped a road contest to conference foe York College on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Tennis Centre by a 6-3 margin.

In doubles competition, the Knights had the lead as they took two of three from the Spartans. Micah Roberts and Lauren Morrison earned an 8-5 win at the No. 1 spot. Freshmen Kari Stollenwerk and Anna Evans also defeated their opponents by an 8-2 score at No. 3.

Kirsten Laurence and Katie Durrant fell to Emily Price and Megan Jones of York by a score of 8-4.

In singles play, Morrison was the lone winner for Southern Virginia as she won in straight sets at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-2.

With the defeat, the Knights fall to 7-12 on the season while York improves to 2-10.
