ROANOKE, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team dropped its second straight match on Tuesday losing at Roanoke College 8-1.

"That was a tough loss to a great team," said fifth-year Head Coach Deidra Dryden. "We enjoy playing top-level teams in effort to raise our level of play. Roanoke is the type of Division III team we aspire to be like."

Mina Romito (Walker, La.) was the lone Knight to record a win at Roanoke (5-2) prevailing at the No. 6 singles match in straight sets (6-3, 6-4).

Women's tennis is off until this weekend's road trip when the Knights travel to Hood College on Friday, followed by a match at future Capital Athletic Conference opponent York College of Pennsylvania.
