ROANOKE, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's tennis team suffered its worst defeat of the season at Hollins University on Friday as the Knights season-long losing streak grew to three matches.

Southern Virginia (7-4) dropped all three doubles matches at Hollins (10-4) before losing all six singles matches in straight sets.

Friday's victory marked the fifth straight for Hollins, which is currently the fourth-ranked team in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference after winning seven of its last ten matches.

"That was a very good team," said fourth-year head coach Deidra Dryden. "Our goal going forward is to be at the top level of D-III competition like Hollins."

Women's tennis plays again tomorrow against Bluefield College at the Washington and Lee University outdoor tennis courts in Lexington, Va., at 10 a.m. EST.

The match will count as the only home competition for women's tennis this season and Southern Virginia's three seniors—Bethany Johnson, Rachel Reid and Shelly Rowberry—will be honored before the match.
