SALISBURY, Md. — The Southern Virginia University women's soccer team fell 6-0 to Salisbury University on the road Saturday afternoon at SU Soccer Complex.
The Knights (3-14-1, 1-8-0) trailed 2-0 early in the first half as the Sea Gulls (13-2-2, 9-0-0) scored in the 2nd and 4th minutes of play off the foot of Jenna Beck.
Salisbury added one more goal in the 34th minute to take a 3-0 lead over the Knights at the half. Sophomore Sydney Kuhni recorded the lone shot of the half for the Knights but was unable to place the ball on goal.
In the second half, the lone opportunity for the Southern Virginia offense occurred when Blythe Hardy received the ball and was able to land a shot on goal but was stopped by Sea Gull goalkeeper Regan Benton.
The Sea Gulls closed out the game after scoring three more goals in the second half of play to pick up the 6-0 victory.
Savannah Uri started at goal for the Knights, collecting three saves in the loss.
Southern Virginia wraps up the regular season this Tuesday, Oct. 29, as they will host St. Mary's (Md.) with a start time scheduled for 5 p.m.
