BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's soccer team took down Regent University 4-0 on Thursday, picking up its second win of the campaign.

The Knights (2-4-1) dominated possession in the first half, resulting in a pair of goals. The first came in the 18th minute when Holly Cunha scored her first goal of the season on an assist from freshman Laurel Storheim, and the second was an unassisted score off the foot of sophomore Sydney Kuhni in
the 25th minute.

Southern Virginia kept the pressure on the Royals (0-1) in the second period, attempting 11 more shots for a game total of 28 and scoring two more goals. Senior Clarissa Barton put one in the back of the net in the 62nd minute off a pass from Gracie Duncan, and Kuhni assisted Cunha on her second goal of the day in the 74th minute.

Storheim led the squad in shots with seven, putting four on goal, while Kuhni put five of her six shots on frame.

Alyssa Trueman and Savannah Uri split time in goal, with Uri picking up two saves and Trueman earning the win.

Regent goalkeeper Genesis Torrent had an impressive game, stopping 12 shots in the loss.

The Knights will travel to Emory, Virginia on Saturday to take on Emory & Henry in another nonconference matchup. The game is set for 1:00 p.m.
