BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Southern Virginia women's soccer team played its home-opener on Thursday afternoon, falling to 2-0 to Pfeiffer University.
The Falcons (2-1) opened up the scoring in the 6th minute, after which the teams played a back-and-forth game until halftime. Pfeiffer managed to score again at the start of the second period, giving themselves a 2-0 advantage.
The Knights (1-2) attempted nine shots, but only two were on frame and none of them found the back of the net.
Freshman Laurel Storheim led the squad in shots with three, while a handful of Knights had one apiece.
The Knights will play again at home on Saturday as they take on Greensboro College. The game is scheduled for 5:00 pm at Knight Stadium.
