Cox Releases 2019 Women's Soccer Schedule

BUENA VISTA, Va. — Southern Virginia University head women's soccer coach MaKenzie Cox today announced the team's 2019 schedule.

"We are excited about this season," said Coach Cox. "We have a strong non-conference schedule that will provide great competition. We will face some familiar teams as well as some new opponents to prepare us for our challenging conference matchups."

Southern Virginia is slated for a 19-game regular season with 10 home games at Knight Stadium.

The Knights' season begins in Raleigh, N.C. where they will play a pair of games over the weekend against Meredith on Aug. 30 and N.C. Wesleyan on Aug. 31.

Southern Virginia then returns for their home-opener at Knight Stadium against Pfeiffer on Sept. 5 before taking on Greensboro on Sept. 7.

Following the brief two-game homestand, the Knights hit the road for a quick matchup at Ferrum, Virginia, against Ferrum College on Sept. 11.

Southern Virginia will then open a two-game homestand against Brevard on Sept. 14 and Regent on Sept. 19. The Knights took down Regent last year 4-1.

The Knights conclude their preseason schedule at Emory & Henry on Sept. 21 followed by a matchup against Eastern Mennonite on Sept. 25.

The Capital Athletic Conference play will follow a new format with each team facing each team in the conference twice, once at home and once on the road.

Southern Virginia kicks off CAC play at home where they will host Salisbury on Sept. 28. The Knights will conclude their regular season on Oct. 29 against St. Mary's (Md.) at Knight Stadium.

The 2019 CAC Tournament will take place Nov. 2, 6 and 9. The winner of the tournament receives the CAC's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
