BUENA VISTA, Va. — The women's soccer team picked up the victory Thursday night against Regent University, defeating the Royals 4-1.

The Royals were the first to get on the board scoring in the 26th minute when Hannah Ashby placed the ball past the goalie to give them the 1-0 lead.

The Knights (4-4) tied the game back at one on an unassisted goal from Maya Perry, where she blasted her shot from 30 yards out into the back of the net.

The second half was all Southern Virginia, Jamilla Anderson started things scoring in the 72nd minute on an assist from Kylie Auger, taking the lead 2-1.

Freshman Cydne Baker put the game away scoring two goals in the 73rd and 87th minutes. The lead was too much for the Royals to overcome, giving the Knights the 4-1 victory.
