BUENA VISTA, Va.−The United States Collegiate Athletic Association today announced sophomore forward Jade Sorensen as USCAA Soccer Player of the Week.

"Jade [Sorensen] deserves this recognition for her play last week," said sixth-year Head Coach Matt Grawrock. "She brings a combination of speed and skill off the bench and she always makes her presence felt when she enters the game."

Sorensen was the only Knight to score during Wednesday's 7-1 loss at Frostburg State University. Two day later, she led Southern Virginia to a 4-1 home victory over Chowan University with back-to-back goals during a four-minute stretch early in the second half.

Sorensen's first goal against Chowan broke a 1-1 tie at the 47:50 mark and her second just over four minutes later gave Southern Virginia a commanding 3-1 lead helping the Knights snap a three-game slide.

In eleven games this season, Sorensen already has 5 goals—the second most of Knight—while converting a scorching 41.7 percent of her on goal attempts.
