Wrestling Narrowly Falls to Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Southern Virginia University wrestling team was narrowly defeated in their duel against Greensboro College Tuesday night, 28-24. 

Aaron Freidhoff led off for the Knights in the 125-pound weight class, eventually falling 6-3.

Christopher Fletcher was the first Knight to score in the duel, pinning his opponent, Ryan Dominique, in 3:18 to give the Knights a three-point advantage over the Pride.

The Knights then lost four consecutive matches before Nico Ramirez defeated his opponent, Mykel Williams, by fall in the third period (5:40).

In post-duel exhibition matches, Southern Virginia's Quigley Whitaker and Joshua Lewis earned pins defeating their opponents in 0:40 and 3:33, respectively.

The Knights will host both Allen and York colleges on Saturday, January 20 starting at 12:30 p.m.
