Wrestling Falls at McDaniel Tri-Match

WESTMINSTER, Md. – During its tri-match at McDaniel College against the hosts and Wilkes University, the Southern Virginia University wrestling team fell 32-6 and 35-9, respectively.

After falling in the first five weight classes against Wilkes, things began looking up when Matthew Rohrdanz won a 7-3 decision over Brett McGill at 165-pounds.  In the 174-pound weight class, Keaton Gomez pinned his opponent, Justin Morel, in four minutes and 33 seconds.

Against McDaniel, Rohrdanz and Gomez were again the only Knights to win their duals. Rohrdanz defeated Wade Bishop in an 11-4 decision while Gomez squeezed out a 9-7 victory over his opponent Ronnie Wuest.

The Knights will prepare for their next dual on Friday, December 8 as they host Averett 6:00 p.m. The following day the Knights will travel to West Virginia Tech.
