LEXINGTON, Va. - Sophomore wrestler, Branden Seeberger, was the highest placed finisher for the Southern Virginia University wrestling team at the Washington & Lee Invitational. Seeberger, wrestling at the 149 lb. weight class lost his first match of the invitational to the eventual champion. Despite the loss, the sophomore regrouped, and rattled off four straight wins to finish in third place at the weight class.
Seeberger's third was the highest for the Knights all day, as the injury plagued Knights could not finish higher than seventh.
Travis Trahan struggled in two matches, and could not get past the first round for the Knights. Taylor Savio produced a strong display for SVU, but could not get past the second round. In the consolation bracket, Savio won a match, but ultimately fell to the fourth place finisher, and took sixth at the invitational.
The Knights will return to action Jan. 22 when they travel to Newport News, Va. to take part in the Ship Builders Invitational hosted by the Apprentice School.
