Knights Unable To Register Points Against W&L

LEXINGTON, Va. - After a strong weekend, the southern Virginia University Wrestling team was hoping for a solid dual with Washington & Lee before the Christmas break, but the Generals overwhelmed the Knights on the way to a 45-0 dual win. Branden Seeberger had one of the strongest matches of the night for the visitors, as he barely lost a 3-2 match to his opponent. Gordon Gifford also posted a strong evening, as he lost a 2-point match, 9-7, to his opponent.

Jeremy Atkinson was the only other Knight who avoided a fall in his match against the Generals. Atkinson lost his match by a score of 8-3. The visitors struggled in other matches, as W&L racked up four match wins by fall over the Knights.

The dual was the last action for the Knights in the calendar year. SVU will return to competition after the Christmas break when they return to W&L for the General's Invitational. The Jan. 15 meet has a start time of 10:00 am.
