Buena Vista, Va. - The awards keep coming for two-time national
champion Peter Rose. Rose was recently named to the Virginia Sports
Information Directors All-State Wrestling Team for the second
consecutive year.
This award appropriately honors Rose for his outstanding 2008-2009
season, in which he won the national championship for the National
Collegiate Wrestling Association 157 lb weight class, and was named
an NCWA All-American with a record of 29-1.
The award puts Rose into elite company, since the majority of
award recipients were from NCAA Division I schools in Virginia. Two
other award winners were from The Apprentice School, which is a
fellow NCWA member with Southern Virginia. Rose will be returning
to SVU for his senior year, where he will attempt to win his third
national title in a row. During the 2009-2010 season, Rose will
also be wrestling for the best career record in SVU wrestling
history.
