Nancy Webber enters her second season as Southern Virginia University's head women's lacrosse coach.
Having coached since 1999, Webber (formerly Haws) has found tremendous success throughout her career with nearly 150 wins and four high school All-Americans to her credit. Six of her former athletes went on to play at the NCAA Division I level and multiple have become coaches themselves.
Webber comes to Southern Virginia by way of Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, Virginia, where she totaled 101 wins as the head coach from 2007-13 and was named a Virginia District Coach of the Year five times and Region Coach of the Year four seasons. The Warriors advanced to the state AAA quarterfinals for eight consecutive seasons during that span, including an appearance to the semifinals round in 2012 and a state championship in 2010. Following the 2010 title season, Webber became the only AA coach to win a AAA championship in state history.
She presently coaches the Seminole Select girls travel team and coached the CV lacrosse club team from 2011-12. In addition, Webber coached the Blue Ridge club team based in Charlottesville from 2005-11 and has helped develop and supervise the YMCA girls youth league since 2007.
Prior to Western Albemarle, Webber served as head coach of the girls lacrosse program at The Waterford School in Sandy, Utah, from 1999-2004. She had an immediate impact on the program, helping the Ravens to a state runner-up finish in 1999 and again in 2002. She was named the Utah State Coach of the Year in 1999 after leading the inaugural Raven program to its second-place finish.
Outside of coaching, Webber serves on the USLacrosse women's game committee and has been the coaches' subcommittee chair since 2010. A member of the USLacrosse volunteer board from 2004-06, she has a USLacrosse coaching certificate at the Level 1 course and class, Level 2 course and Level 3 course and class.
Webber resides in Crozet, Virginia, with her daughter, Julia, and son, Joshua. Her oldest daughter, Jordan Haws Trejo, was an All-American women’s lacrosse player at BYU and now resides in San Antonio, Texas, with her husband, Chase and daughter, Peyton.
