Jordan Sorensen is the head women’s lacrosse coach and admissions system administrator at Southern Virginia University. The 2014 season marks his first as head coach of the women's lacrosse program.
As a scholar-athlete at Southern Virginia, Sorensen played goalie for the men’s lacrosse team from 2005-07 and 2009-11, taking time between his sophomore and junior campaigns to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bilbao, Spain. He was a three-time team captain for the Knights and finished his career as the program’s all-time leader in both total saves and save percentage.
Sorensen's coaching career began in 2006 as an assistant coach at his alma mater Poway High School. Following his experience at Poway, he served as an assistant lacrosse coach at Southern Virginia for both the men’s and women’s programs in 2006 while still a student attending the university. After graduating from Southern Virginia in 2011 with a degree in Business Management and Leadership, Sorensen resumed his role as assistant lacrosse coach for the men's and women's teams.
