Women's Lacrosse Dominates on the Road

ROANOKE, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team dominated Hollins University Saturday afternoon at Berkley Field, picking up a 19-2 victory.

In the first half, the Knights' (8-4) offense rattled off 12 consecutive goals to take a commanding 12-0 lead. The Southern Virginia defense held Hollins (4-7) to just one goal ending the half up 12-1.

The second half followed the same pattern of the first with the Knights outscoring Hollins 7-1 to cruise to the 19-2 win, snapping Hollins four-game win streak.

Senior Megan Barfuss reached the 100-point career milestone in today's game after posting two goals and two assists becoming the second player in program history to reach the century mark.

Hannah King led the Knights with a game-high five goals and four assists while Lauren Thatcher, Chloe Mitchell, and Jordan Gundersen each scored multiple goals.

Madilyn K. Pedroza picked up the win at goal collecting four saves.

The Knights return home to host the University of Mary Washington Tuesday, April 9 at 4:30 p.m.
