Knights Top Gophers, Earn Fifth-Straight

BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team defeated Goucher College 20-10 on Saturday afternoon, improving their record to 5–1 on the season.

The Knights (5-1) jumped out to an 8-1 lead at the 13:12 mark in the first half, and then extended that lead to 10, ending the half on top13-3.

The start of the second half went to the Gophers, scoring six of the first eight goals, cutting the lead to 15-9 with 13:33 left to play.

At that point, Southern Virginia took over scoring another five goals to Goucher's one, extending their win streak to five, 20-10.

Natalie Rice had a season-high six goals for the Knights and picked up a game-high nine ground balls. Caitriona Knowles added a career-high five goals while Megan Barfuss dished out a season-high eight assists for Southern Virginia.

The Knights look to extend their win streak to six as they host the Vikings of Berry College on the 12th of March at 11 a.m.
