Women's Lacrosse Rolls, Shutting Out Montreat College

Buena Vista, Va.—The Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team earned their 3rd straight victory, defeating the Cavaliers of Montreat College 17-0 on Friday afternoon.

In the first half, the Knights (3-1) couldn't be stopped, outscoring the Cavaliers (1-4) 13-0 heading into the half. Southern Virginia took their foot off the gas in the second, tacking on four more goals en route to a 17-0 victory.

Freshman Jordan Gunderson led the way for the Knights scoring a career-high four goals on all four of her shots attempts. Natalie Rice also played a major role in Southern Virginia's success, scoring three goals and picking up a game-high 12 ground balls.

The Knights took 43 shots in comparison to the Cavaliers three and had 15 fewer turnovers on the game, 35-20.

Southern Virginia will return to action on the 6th of March at 4 p.m. as they are set to face-off against Ferrum College.
