BUENA VISTA, Va. — Behind a career-high seven goals from senior Zoe Bradshaw, the Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team pulled off a 12-9 victory over Randolph College.
Bradshaw scored her first goal less than thirty seconds into the game, and had a hat trick in the first five minutes. After the first half, the Knights (3-6, 0-1 CAC) were on top 7-5.
Randolph (1-5) scored the first goal of the second half to bring them within one, but Southern Virginia answered with goals of their own and never let the Wildcats come within reach. Claire Houghtaling scored in the final seconds of the game to secure the win.
Madilyn Krauss played all 60 minutes in goal and recorded eight saves. The Knights outshot the Wildcats 31-22.
Southern Virginia continues Capital Athletic Conference action on Thursday, March 23 as they host Christopher Newport University at 5:00 p.m. EST.
