Hood Tops Women's Lacrosse

FREDERICK, Md.—The Southern Virginia women's lacrosse team fell 12-8 in their contest against non-conference opponent Hood College on Saturday afternoon.

The first eight minutes of the game was spent with the teams exchanging goals until Hood (1-1) went on a 7-2 run to take a five-point lead at the half. The Knights (0-3, 0-1 CAC) scored two goals 10 minutes into the second half to cut down Hood's lead. The game was ended early due to unforeseen circumstances.

Zoe Bradshaw, Ashley Lessing, and Sydney Winterton combined for six goals to lead the Knights' offense. Claire Houghtaling and Majkaleah Knowles each contributed a goal. Knowles added three assists and Lauren Thatcher had two.

Madilyn Krauss and Keilani Torres-Lopez split time in goal for Southern Virginia. Each goalkeeper recorded five saves. 

Southern Virginia plays at Hollins on Tuesday, February 28. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
