FERRUM, Va. — The Southern Virginia University women's lacrosse team fell 12-9 to non-conference opponent Ferrum College on President's Day afternoon.

Senior Zoe Bradshaw scored her first goal of the game in the second minute to put the Knights (0-2, 0-1 CAC) on the board first, but Ferrum (1-0) took control and a 9-5 lead at halftime.

The second half stayed scoreless for the first ten minutes until Southern Virginia's Claire Houghtaling found the back of the net. The Knights outscored the Panthers in the second half, but not enough to overtake them.

Bradshaw, Houghtaling, and Lauren Thatcher each scored a hat trick to account for all the goals for the Knights. Madilyn Krauss played the entire game in goal for Southern Virginia and recorded 10 saves.

The Knights will look for their first win of the season at Hood College on Saturday, February 25 at 2 p.m.
