BUENA VISTA, Va.—Seniors Rainey Whitworth and Zoe Bradshaw combined for 12 goals for the Knights, but that would not be enough as Frostburg State University pulled off a 21-14 win.

The Bobcats (6-7, 2-5 CAC) took an early lead but Southern Virginia (7-9, 0-7 CAC) responded with three goals of their own to take a 3-1 lead. Both teams continued to find the back of the net but the Bobcats scored two goals in the final minute of the half to take a 9-6 lead at the break.

Frostburg took control in the second half and outscored the Knights 12-8. The Bobcats had 42 total shots compared to the Knights 24.

Claire Houghtaling and Megan Barfuss each scored a goal for Southern Virginia. Melanie Lytle played in goal for the Knights and recorded eight saves.

The Knights, who averaged less than eight goals per game, scored their fourth-highest goal total of the year with 14.

The Knights host Wesley College on Saturday, April 16 at 12 p.m. for their senior day.
