BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia women's lacrosse team pulled off a 15-10 win against Division-II Chowan University Wednesday evening at The Fields.
Chowan (1-12) found the back of the net first, taking a three goal lead ten minutes into the first half. Southern Virginia (7-7, 0-5 CAC) went on a five-goal run to take the lead they would never relinquish. The Hawks scored three more times before halftime but the Knights held on to have a one goal lead at the half.
The Hawks tied the game up two minutes into the second half but that would be the closest they would get. With just under ten minutes to go in the game, and a one-point lead, the Knights scored four goals to secure their win.
Melanie Lytle played in goal for Southern Virginia and recorded six saves. The Knights outshot the Hawks 26-22.
