No. 17 Tops Women's Lacrosse

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.—The No. 17-ranked Christopher Newport Captains topped the Southern Virginia women's lacrosse team 19-1 on Wednesday in mid-week Capital Athletic Conference action.

The Captains (9-1, 4-0 CAC) scored 13 goals in the first half before Southern Virginia's (6-6, 0-4 CAC) Rainey Whitworth put them on the board from a free-position shot with four minutes left in the first half.

CNU tacked on six unanswered goals in the second half.

Rachel Miller recorded five saves in the loss.

The Knights return to their home field on Saturday a 1 p.m. to host Marymount University.
