ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.—The Southern Virginia women's lacrosse team lost 15-2 Friday evening to  No. 20 St. Mary's College of Maryland.

The Seahawks (9-1, 1-1 CAC), ranked 20th in the IWLCA poll, scored four goals in the opening five minutes of the game and continued to score, taking a 9-1 lead at halftime.

The Knights' (6-5, 0-3 CAC) defense held St. Mary's to six goals in the second half but the offense was unable to find a consistent attack.  Eleven different players found the back of the net for the Seahawks.

Seniors Rainey Whitworth and Zoe Bradshaw scored the two goals for Southern Virginia, both of which were unassisted.

The Knights will look for their fist conference win on Wednesday, March 30 at Christopher Newport University. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
