Knights Top Hollins; Whitworth Scores Five

BUENA VISTA, Va.—The Southern Virginia Women's lacrosse team won their fifth game of the season in a big victory against Hollins University with a score of 18-9.

The Knights (5-3, 0-1 CAC) attack was able to score their first five goals in a span of less than five minutes. The Knights kept the pressure on scoring six more times before the half was over making the score 11-4.

At the start of the second half Rainey Whitworth scored two goals in the first two minutes giving the Knights a nine-goal lead. Hollins (0-5, 0-0 ODAC) did its best to come back scoring 5 goals in the half but the Knights' lead was to much.

Rainey Whitworth led the way with 5 goals, followed closely by Claire Houghtaling and Zoe Bradshaw with 4 goals each. Majkaleah Knowles score two goals and Faythe Park, Emily Lamb, and Megan Barfuss each scored one goal.

Rachel Miller played in goal and recorded 4 saves.
