BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C.—The Southern Virginia women's lacrosse team secured their fourth win of the season on Friday, with a 13-3 decision at Montreat College.
Claire Houghtaling scored the first goal for the Knights (4-3, 0-1 CAC) just under 30 seconds into the first half, and would score her second goal and assist Emily Lamb in a third score within the first five minutes of the game.
The lead continued to grow with eight first half goals before Montreat (0-7) got on the board with two minutes left in the half.
The Cavaliers also had the last say in the second half, but their two late goals weren't enough for the Knights, who notched the 13-3 win, their biggest winning margin of the year.
Rachel Miller earned the win and recored five saves.
