LYNCHBURG, Va.—The Southern Virginia women's lacrosse team earned their third consecutive win of the season against Randolph College on Tuesday evening, winning 14-5.
The Knights (3-1) took an early 5-0 lead over the Wildcats (0-2) in the first eleven minutes of the game. Randolph found momentum scoring back-to-back goals and adding one more before the half.
The Knights added to their lead in the second half scoring four more goals and allowing only two for the 14-5 victory.
Senior Zoe Bradshaw led the team with five goals and four forced turnovers while Rainey Whitworth chipped in four scores. Whitworth also led with six groundballs and eight draw controls. Bradshaw tallied five ground balls, two draw controls, and led with two assists.
Freshman midfielder Majkaleah Knowles and sophomore attacker Megan Barfuss each added two goals for the Knights. Claire Houghtaling also scored. Goalkeeper Melanie Lytle recorded two saves and two groundballs.
The Knights will open conference play hosting the University of Mary Washington on Saturday, March 5 at The Fields. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
